"I remember the moment I decided I was going to follow my dream and build the business. It was the end of September 2020, amid the pandemic, just after the global death toll surpassed 1 million. My role as a Recreation Director at a nursing facility had taken a dark turn. I went from planning and leading healing, joyful activities, to doing video calls for dying residents who were quarantined. Luckily my 16 years in healthcare and years of studying energy work, had prepared me for everything I was enduring. But the magnitude of what we were experiencing took it to another level. I stood there in these final family moments, trying to make myself invisible and emotionally detach from what I was witnessing. Many of them sobbed and spoke of life’s regrets as they said their last I love yous to their lifeless loved ones.
It was around these moments that I heard my call. The call within myself, one that I have heard for many years and realized it was now time to answer. I didn’t want to live with regret. I would rather die than live knowing I didn’t follow my dreams. Life is precious and fleeting. I said to myself, “I’m going to do this, and nothing is going to stop me. Everyone around me is dying, I am already going to work every day with the likely possibility of dying. I am going to take everything I have, give it all I’ve got and risk everything. If I lose everything, I accept that fate, if I succeed, I accept that fate, if I die from this virus, I accept that too.” I didn’t have a plan or even know if I had all the necessary funds at this time, but I KNEW I was going to manifest this. I began dedicating every spare moment to building this healing space. During the day I was fighting on the front lines and at night I was painting murals, sculpting rock walls, putting every bit of my heart and soul into this magical place, a place the community so desperately needed at the time. 2 months and 12 days later 12/12/20, Moon Goddess Studio successfully opened its doors.
Since opening, Moon Goddess Studio has become more than I ever dreamed it would be. The community connections, healing, sharing of stories, hopes and dreams, manifesting magic, discovering and understanding our unlimited potential together. It has been a place for all, a sacred space of community and collaboration."
